Indrani Sarkar – Five poems

You and My dream

The moon appeared distorted
almost like my dream, unclear.
Silence that only existed,
I stared for long with despair.
I thought of you, my beloved
as I sat beneath the tree.
But realized you are never there
as I only find none but me.

Light

How many ways I may give you light?
The sparkling light from the sun,
the mystic moonlight of a moonlit night,
the drizzling light of the morning dews,
or a candle light covered with much care.
Everything I kept for you my beloved.
If you do not wish to have let me know,
I will distribute and splash all the light,
I will let them float on the running water.
But I will not let you forget that I only
loved you to light up your dull puzzling eyes.

If Friendship Prevails

No more call,
no more beckoning from me
I let you free
as you let go of my hand.

But I know
that if friendship prevails
you be back
walking on the sultry sand.

The Horizon

The river is dazzling with silhouettes
of the lighted skyline with a blue sky.
My eyes wander along the pathway

and are lost in a beauty I can't deny.
My mind wonders along the riverbank
when all asleep under the blue sky.
The moonlit night casts a spell on me
as the lighted city line is held high...

The Vagabond Mind

The vagabond mind searches
the most precious jewel which is lost,
through the woods and red brick path
some day and somewhere.

The mind is stolen along with
the tides of that wild river.
The mind stoops in a drunken mood
along with the spring air.

Finding you

In the middle of a night,
I was in my love's flight.
The stars were weeping,
the moon was moaning.
The joyous hearts are broken.
The words of love remain unspoken.
Can I win you back again
and thus be free from all my pain ?
Love sparkled once more,
when I found you in my heart's core.
